Rock tossing leads to charges

A light-sleeping Wallaceburg resident got a rude surprise early Wednesday morning.

Chatham-Kent police say the man heard a noise sometime after 1:30 a.m. and went to investigate.

Police say he looked outside his Blake Street home and saw a man picking up a rock and chucking it at his vehicle. The rock cracked the windshield.

Police arrived and located a man a short distance away.

A 47-year-old Walpole Island man was then arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was charged with mischief.

Warrant arrest

Yelling at an employee at a Wallaceburg business got a man arrested on Tuesday morning, but not for the verbal tirade.

Chatham-Kent police got the call about 8:10 a.m. about a disturbance on McNaughton Avenue in Walllacebug at a business.

Police learned a man was yelling at an employee.

When officers arrived, they learned the identity of the suspect, and realized he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court, police say.

A 47-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and released with another court date.
