What did the dog ever do to him?

A man is facing charges after yelling at a woman and her dog.

Yesterday afternoon, Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance in Tilbury.

Through investigation, police learned that a local citizen was walking her dog on Queen Street when the man started yelling, while threatening her and her dog.

A 47-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with two counts of uttering threats. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Stolen property recovered

Just before 1 a.m. this morning, police responded to a mischief complaint on Park Avenue West in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m., someone smashed the window of a truck in a parking lot and stole a Honda generator.

Officers searched the area and located a man walking along the train tracks near the parking lot in possession of the stolen generator along with a duffle bag containing a window punch, crow bar, rubber gloves and tools stolen from a nearby business.

Total value of the recovered stolen items was approximately $1,500.

A 35-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with mischief, theft, possession of break-in tools and two counts of being in possession of property obtained by a crime. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Motorcyclist injured in crash

Last night around 6:30 p.m. police responded to a collision involving a car and motorcycle on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 55-year-old Belle River man, was transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car, a 22-year-old Chatham woman, was charged with failing to yield the right of way.

Total damage was estimated at $20,000.

Shoplifting

Yesterday morning, a man attended Wal-Mart in Chatham, regardless of being on conditions not to attend the store.

Once inside, the man concealed two MP3 players on his person and left the store, making no attempt to pay for the items valued at $56.

With the assistance of video surveillance, police identified the man and he was arrested yesterday afternoon.

A 24-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been charged with theft, possession of stolen property, failing to comply with his release conditions and breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Theft charges

Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a shoplifting complaint at No Frills in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman stole about $200 worth of groceries.

A short time later, police located the woman at Home Hardware, where she was taken into custody for theft and assaulting an employee.

A 41-year-old Walpole Island Woman is charted with two counts each of theft and possession of stolen property and one of assault. She was released pending a future court date.
