
Porch pirate
A Windsor man faces charges faces charges after a porch pirate nixed a package from a Lacroix Street home Thursday morning.
Police were called shortly before 10 a.m. over the reported theft.
Investigations revealed that two men walked up to a porch on Lacroix Street, removed a delivered package and left the area. The accused were later spotted opening the package in a nearby alleyway.
Following a brief foot pursuit, officers quickly located one of the suspects on Lorne Avenue.
A 35-year-old Windsor man is charged with theft, possession of stolen property and failing to comply with a release order.
Police have also identified a second suspect, a 33-year-old Chatham-Kent man who remains outstanding at this time.
Long-term harassment
Police slapped the cuffs on a Chatham man following months of alleged harassment against a Chatham woman.
The victim, 37, from Chatham, reached out to police on Thursday. The harassment began in July of last year and continued until Thursday. Police say the man sent multiple inappropriate messages to the woman. The victim asked for him to stop, but they continued, police add.
As a result, a 40-year-old Chatham man is charged with criminal harassment.
