Knife pulled, man charged

A Wallaceburg man has to answer to charges after someone pulled a knife on a man Tuesday morning in a Chatham parking lot.

Police were called just before 9 a.m. to a St. Clair Street business over the altercation.

Officers learned two men were arguing when police say one man brandished a knife while trying to get into the victim’s vehicle.

The officers found the suspect sitting in his vehicle. During a search of the man, police say they found an eight-inch knife sheathed on the man’s belt. Another knife, listed as a prohibited weapon, was found inside the vehicle.

A 19-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with uttering threats, possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose, and unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon.
