Fatal crash near Thamesville


A Sunday afternoon crash south of Thamesville claimed the life of a Chatham woman.

Chatham-Kent police say the crash took place around 3 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Victoria Road and Botany Line.

Police say a man driving a pick-up truck while pulling a grain vac was travelling northbound on Victoria Road. As the man turned right onto Botany Line, a car travelling at a high rate of speed slammed into the truck.

The driver of the car, a 32-year-old Chatham woman was taken to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The 62-year-old Thamesville man in the truck was not injured.
