Ten Chatham-Kent residents are in local hospital battling COVID-19 as of this morning.

That’s up two from a day before.

Overall, our case count dipped by one after consecutive days creeping upwards. We now sit at 37 active cases, as only one new case was reported in the past 24 hours against two resolved.

The medicine unit of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance remains listed in outbreak.

Provincially, new cases topped 2,400 in the past 24 hours, up from 1,588 a day earlier.

Reports are the province may ease some restrictions as early as this weekend. The premier is to make an announcement this afternoon.
