Theft of ATVs and property

Sometime overnight on July 14, someone stole two ATV’s and numerous tools from a residence on Kent Bridge Road.

Chatham-Kent police are asking citizens to alert police should they observe a 2007 Yamaha Kodiak ATV 450, camo in colour, or a 2009 Suzuki L40 400 King Quad, green in colour, bearing Ontario Marker 59WH2. This Investigation is currently ongoing.

Theft charges

Last evening, police conducted a traffic stop on Base Line Road in Wallaceburg.

The license plates on the vehicle did not correspond with one another.

Upon further investigation it was learned that both the plates on the motor vehicle had been reported stolen in two separate theft complaints.

Ryan Huff, 31, of Ridgetown, has been charged with two counts of theft under $5,000, and two counts of possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

Speed traps

Over the past two days, platoon members conducted enforcement of the Highway Traffic Act on Charing Cross Road and Devon Drive in Chatham.

As a result of the increased enforcement, 14 Provincial Offence Tickets, three Part lll Summons and three warnings were issued.

Shoplifting

On July 8, police received information and were provided a suspect to a shoplifting complaint at Shoppers Drug Mart in Chatham.

Yesterday the officers located and arrested the man responsible.

David Fields, 41, of Chatham, is charged with theft under $5,000, and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000

Warrant arrest       

Yesterday afternoon police located a female party on King Street East in Chatham who had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.

A 40-year-old woman of no fixed address was taken into custody.
