The truth can hurt

Sir: Mr. Sigurjonsson’s recent letter, “It’s time to stop C-K’s decline,” accurately describes the real state of Chatham-Kent.

In the 30 years I have resided in C-K, there has been a steady downturn.

Aggressive tree removal with no replacement has turned once stately streets to barren ugliness and compromised our air quality.

Nothing has been done to provide enough walking paths or bicycle lanes.

It is no surprise that we are an unhealthy, obese community.

If strategic plan recommendations had been implemented, C-Kwould not be in such a deplorable state.

Improve conditions and our city’s value will be self-evident. It is time council and administration face reality, take action and consider the health and needs of those who pay the taxes.
