The Blenheim Youth Centre is partnering with the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre to help some youth have a merrier Christmas.
The members of the BYC are making and decorating stockings to fill for the kids at the centre during the holiday season.
The youth centre is a not-for-profit organization that supports women and children who are facing violence by providing shelter, advocacy, counselling and public education.
The BYC sees this as an opportunity to give back to a very supportive community and are asking local businesses in the area to provide financial support for this worthwhile cause. Donations will be used to purchase items to fill the stockings.
The Blenheim Youth Centre is open daily after school for the kids in Blenheim and the surrounding areas to engage in meaningful social experiences and to gain and develop skills in many areas such as life skill building, teamwork, decision making and community engagement.
If you would like to be a part of the stocking project, or for more information about the BYC and its programs, please contact Carl Emmott, program co-ordinator at 519-676-0207 or e-mail blenheimyouthcentre@yahoo.ca.
