The cold and snow haven’t stopped thieves from doing their dirty work in Chatham-Kent.

On Jan. 29, between 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., someone forced their way into the broiler room of a Timmins Crescent apartment building and made off with light bulbs, kitchen and bathroom taps, hoses and a various tools.

Police investigated and say they tracked the missing items to a Wood Street home where the taps and light bulbs had been installed.

A 27-year-old man Chatham man was charged with break and enter and possession of property obtained by crime.

Meanwhile, about 1:15 a.m. this morning, police responded to an alarm at the LCBO in Dresden.

When they got to the store, they noticed someone had smashed a large glass window, valued at $1,900.

Police say when an LCBO employee arrived on scene, a quick inventory search revealed that seven 60-ounce bottles of whiskey had been stolen. That’s about $400 worth of hooch.

Police are looking for two suspects. The first is a white male in his early 20s, thin build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, and a grey flat hat with what appeared to be a Toronto Blue Jays logo on it.

The second suspect is described as another white male in his early 20s, average build and seen wearing a black hoodie with a black T-shirt underneath which had a white-coloured symbol on it, black pants and black shoes.

On Thursday, sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., someone forced their way into a residence on Mulberry Court, causing about $150 damage.

Once in the home, the thieves made off with about $4,000 worth of electronics.
