For the fifth year, the Chatham-Kent OPP detachment has teamed up with The Salvation Army to keep area residents warm during the frosty weather.

Const. Janine Belanger, media relations officer for the OPP (right), delivered all the hats, mittens and scarves donated by the community since December to Family Services Co-ordinator Rhonda Dixon and Youth Advocate Worker Tim Brown of The Salvation Army.

More than 3,000 items were collected for kids and adults, and Dixon said due to the winter conditions this year, the donation was a very welcome one.

Belanger said the OPP would continue to collect items all year long.
