Resisting arrest

A woman known to have an outstanding warrant was stopped while on a bicycle Friday in Wallaceburg.

The woman was placed under arrest.

During this time, police say the woman bit one officer and made several attempts to kick officers.

Along with the warrant, the woman was charged with assault and resisting a peace officer.

Booze stolen, vacuum tossed, man arrested

On Saturday, police responded to a theft complaint at a business on Main Street in Ridgetown as a man stole a bottle of alcohol.

The man then walked towards a residence on Harold Street and threw a shop vacuum at a vehicle, police say. The man continued towards a building on Cecil Street, where he damaged a scooter and window. Officers located the man and he was taken into custody.

A 35-year-old Ridgetown man was charged with theft, being in possession of property obtained by crime and two counts of mischief.

Window smashed, man charged

Nine days after someone smashed a window in Blenheim, police made an arrest.

On Aug. 12, police attended an address on Hall Street South in Blenheim for a mischief investigation.

Police learned a man had smashed a window.

On Sunday, a 40-year-old Blenheim man was located and arrested. He was charged with one count of mischief.

Man, woman arrested for theft

Chatham-Kent police arrested two people yesterday and charged them in connection with a pair of recent thefts.

On Aug. 12, police responded to a theft at a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham. The man was identified through surveillance footage, police say.

Six days later, police responded to a bicycle theft from a business on Third Street in Chatham. Through surveillance footage, officers identified the man and the woman involved, police say. After attempts to locate the individuals initially failed, a warrant was sought for their arrest.

Shortly after midnight last night, the man and woman were located and arrested on Keil Drive in Chatham.

A 47-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with two counts of theft and two counts of possession of the stolen property. A 30-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and charged with theft and possession of the stolen property.

B&E in Chatham

Sometime late last week, a shed was broken into on Gray Street in Chatham.

A large quantity of tools was removed.

Probation situation

A dispute between neighbours Sunday morning wound up seeing a man charged.

Police say the fracas got reported about 9:15 a.m. on Lark Street.

Through investigation, police learned a man was bound by conditions not to communicate with a neighbour and not to engage in a specific activity.

It was determined the man had breached both conditions.

A 29-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of breaching his probation.
