Editor: Recently, I was getting ready to cross Grand Avenue from Ursuline Avenue to Emma Street. I have crossed there many times with my walker as it is quite a little bit of an extra trek to the lights at Grand and St. Clair.
Well, a car pulled up at Emma to go one way or the other. A gentleman got out of his car and came across to me at Ursuline Avenue to help me across. I never did get his name because, unfortunately, I was too focused watching traffic.
If the driver reads this, I want to say “thank you” for trying to help this little old lady across the road. It was a nice thought in this day and age.
But I do realize I should not have crossed when I did. But it sure slowed up one fast driver among many.
Don’t give up. As I’m sure some other little old lady will be pleased with the help.
