
Assault with a casserole dish
A Chatham man has a future court date after police say someone got smacked in the head with a casserole dish Monday.
The incident took place about 5:30 p.m. in the lobby of a Merritt Avenue apartment building, police say.
Two men were arguing when one man, police say, swung the glass casserole dish, and connected with the victim’s head several times.
The victim was treated by paramedics on scene.
A 40-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault with a weapon.

A Chatham man faces charges after police say he just wouldn’t listen.
According to Chatham-Kent police, they were contacted by a woman, 19, over repeated and unwanted contact from a man.
Investigations revealed that, despite being told to stop communications, the accused continued contacting her through calls, messages and various other means of communication.
Additionally, officers also learned of an incident last October where the woman was assaulted when an argument turned physical.
A 19-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault and criminal harassment.

On March 13 members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of theft at a local retail store on McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg.
Investigations revealed that the accused attended the retail store, selected merchandise and left without making an attempt to purchase.
Through surveillance footage, the accused was identified as a 26-year-old male from Chatham. The investigating officers learned the suspect is also bound by prior court-ordered conditions prohibiting him from going into the store.
Officers spotted their suspect Monday evening on Duncan Street in Wallaceburg, and he was arrested.
A 26-year-old Chatham man is charged with theft, possession of stolen property and failing to comply with an undertaking.
