At a recent fundraiser for the Children’s Treatment Centre for Chatham-Kent, folks danced and donated for local kids.

Held March 7 at the Chatham Armoury, Gala for the Kids – Disco Inferno raised $159,000 in support of children and youth in Chatham-Kent facing physical, developmental and communication challenges.

According to a CTC Foundation media release, the historic venue was transformed into a dazzling disco, showcasing bold colours, sequins, platform shoes and high-energy entertainment.

Along with the dance party, the gala offered both live and silent auctions, featuring exclusive and unique items.

CTC Foundation president Mike Genge said the excitement in the room reflected the deep commitment the community has in supporting local children and families.

“Our community continues to show up in the most incredible way for our kids,” Genge said in the media release. “The energy in the room was unforgettable, but what truly matters is the lasting impact these funds will have on children and youth who rely on our services every day.”

Funds raised through the fourth annual gala support essential programs not covered by government funding, including social work, therapeutic recreation and music therapy – critical services that enhance confidence, connection and overall well-being for children and families.

Each year, one in five children in Chatham-Kent accesses services through the centre. To learn more about the organization and how you can get involved visit ctcf-ck.com.
