A local man faces charges of aggravated assault after police say he stabbed a men in the legs repeatedly.
The incident, police say, took place Feb. 25 on Richmond Street in Chatham. The male victim was visiting at the residence and asleep in a bedroom when the suspect arrived. The accused, armed with an edged weapon, entered the bedroom, entered the bedroom and stabbed the man in the legs three times, police say.
He then fled in a cab.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment, and the hunt was on for the suspect.
On Monday, police located the man and made their arrest.
A 25-year-old Chatham-Kent man is charged with aggravated assault and failing to comply with his release conditions.
