Nine charged in drug raid

Police have charged nine Wallaceburg residents with a litany of drug-related charges in the wake of a raid Wednesday.

Police hit a property on King Street in Wallaceburg, seizing quantities of fentanyl, meth and oxy in the process, and slapping the handcuffs on nine people.

A total of 51 grams of fentanyl, 27 grams of methamphetamine, nine oxycodone tablets, as well as drug-trafficking paraphernalia were seized. Cash, cell phones, seven BB guns, three compound bows, a set of brass knuckles, and various types of ammunition were part of the items found as well.

In total, the estimated street value of the drugs nabbed is estimated at nearly $12,000.

Six men – aged 45, 44, 43, 49, 44, and 48 – and three women – aged 32, 29, and 28 – have all been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in fentanyl, meth and oxy, as well as possession of a prohibited weapon.

Three of the men and two of the women also face firearm-related charges and probation violation charges.
