Volunteers hit the streets of Chatham and area recently for the Chatham Goodfellows, helping to bring in nearly $31,000 in donations for the “No Child Without a Christmas effort.
It was the 71st annual effort, and this year’s numbers fell just $200 short of last year’s campaign tally.
According to a media release from the organization the Chatham Goodfellows board of directors ais very appreciative of the continued support and generosity of the volunteers, Chatham-Kent residents, media and businesses
“Thank you. We can’t do this without you all. Thank you on from the bottom of our hearts,” the board said.
Last year, the Goodfellows spent well over $230,000 to purchase items needed to fill toy and food hampers that were distributed to families in and around Chatham.
