Officers arrived and found the driver, who claimed she was distracted by her puppy. However, officers noted a strong odor of alcohol, slowed speech, and glossy eyes, police say.

A reusable bottle containing a liquid with an alcohol odor was discovered in the vehicle.

The driver became unco-operative when asked to exit the vehicle, police say.

She was arrested for impaired driving and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

A 46-year-old Sarnia woman was charged with impaired.

Another crash; another impaired charge

Bear Line seemed to be the hot spot for impaired driving charges on the weekend, as another person was charged Sunday evening after someone drove through a shed.

This time, it was after an accident at the intersection of Bear Line and Pain Court Line.

Police got the call shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday.

A vehicle was observed traveling eastbound on Pain Court Line at a high rate of speed. The driver failed to stop at the stop sign at Bear Line, continuing onto a property east of Bear Line, where he drove through an implement shed, causing significant damage to both the building and the equipment inside, police say.

The 21-year-old Sarnia man was arrested for impaired driving and transported to police headquarters. He refused to provide breath samples for testing, police say. He has been charged with impaired driving, refusal to provide a sample, and several Highway Traffic Act offences.
