A Fire near Thamesville claimed the lives of two dogs on the weekend.
Emergency crews got the call about 8:40 a.m. Sunday morning to a reported fire at 29737 Zone 7 Rd. They arrived to see a mobile home engulfed in flames. Also ablaze were an attached garage, add-on buildings and a camping trailer.
The trailer was already collapsed when crews from Thamesville and Bothwell arrived, officials said. Unfortunately, two dogs died inside that trailer.
The human tenants were not injured.
Heavy equipment was eventually brought in to pull apart the collapsed structure, helping firefighters to finish off the fire.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, fire officials said.
