Resisting arrest
A Tilbury man faces charges after police say he tried to escape arrest early Thursday morning.
Shortly before 12:30 a.m., Chatham-Kent police found a man on Queen Street in Tilbury who was wanted on an arrest warrant for careless storage of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
As an officer went to arrest the man, police say the man refused to comply with the officer’s requests and assaulted the officer.
A 53-year-old Tilbury man is charged with assaulting a peace officer with intent to resist arrest and one count of resisting a peace officer, along with the outstanding warrants.
Caught in the act
Three men face B&E charges after someone got into a fenced compound Thursday morning.
Chatham-Kent police got the call shortly before 6 a.m. and responded to the break-and-enter in progress.
Officers arrived at the location in Raleigh Twp. and spotted three people inside the compound.
A man, 37, and woman, 32, from Wheatley, as well as a Leamington man, 42, are charged with breaking and entering. The 37-year-old man was also linked to a previous occurrence and was held for bail.
