Domestic assault

A Chatham man faces charges after an incident of domestic violence Saturday evening.

A man and a woman began arguing about 8:30 p.m. at a Tweedsmuir Avenue address in Chatham when it turned violent. Police say the man assaulted the woman and threw her cell phone, damaging it in the process.

A 39-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault and mischief.

Mischief charge

A man faces charges after police say he damaged another person’s property Saturday and Sunday.

The man was trespassed from a Pearl Crescent residence in Chatham after damaging property that belonged to the tenant. At that time, the tenant did not wish to charge the man but wanted him removed from the property. 

On Sunday morning at about 2 a.m., police say the man returned and began kicking the door, causing damage to it. Police were called to the area and located the man a short distance away. 

A 29-year-old man is charged with mischief.

B&E near Tilbury

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a break-in on Coutt’s LIne near Tilbury.

Someone broke into a shed overnight Friday and stole approximately $1,000 worth of property. The investigation is still ongoing.

Bail violation

On Saturday morning at about 10:30 a.m., police located a male on Prince Street South in Chatham who was failing to comply with a release order and breaching a probation order. 

A 21-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to headquarters where he was held for a bail hearing.

Warrant arrest

During routine patrol on Saturday afternoon, police located a man with an outstanding warrant on Tilbury Street in Tilbury.

A 48-year-old Tilbury man was arrested.
