Chatham-Kent police say a drunken woman who got turfed from Walmart in Wallaceburg on Thursday lit the shrubs outside the store on fire, and has to answer for it.

It all took place around 4 p.m. Police responded and officers learned a woman had committed theft and was escorted out of the store. Once outside, the woman ignited the shrubs, police say.

The woman was found to be intoxicated and unable to care for herself. She was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

A 41-year-old Wallaceburg woman has been charged with theft, possession of stolen property, intoxicated in a public place and arson. She was held until she was sober and now faces a future court date.
