Teen charged with assault

A Chatham-Kent teenager faces charges following an altercation between two teens – during school hours – in downtown Chatham on Monday morning.

Chatham-Kent police say they got the call about 10:20 a.m., and responded to Centre Street in Chatham for an assault investigation.

Through investigation, police learned two youths engaged in a verbal altercation that escalated physically.

A 16-year-old Chatham-Kent youth was arrested and charged with assault.

A Chatham-Kent woman faces charges after someone entered a home uninvited on Monday afternoon in Blenheim.

At 2:00 p.m., police responded to Regent Street in Blenheim for a disturbance. 

Police learned the woman entered the home uninvited and verbally argued with the occupants. 

Officers confirmed she was bound by conditions of a release order not to go to the address. 

A 26-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order and being unlawful in a dwelling. She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
