Chatham-Kent police have charged a Wallaceburg man with theft after two vehicles were entered Wednesday.

Police got the call shortly after 8 a.m. to Sylvan Court in Wallaceburg.

Surveillance video captured a man entering two vehicles in the home’s driveway and removing items from each before leaving the area.

The police were able to identify the man through the surveillance video.

A 33-year-old Wallaceburg man was located at 11:32 a.m. walking on Fraser Street in Wallaceburg. He was arrested and charged with theft and possessing stolen property. 

 

Theft and possession charges

A Ridgetown woman faces charges following the theft of a bike and tools from a residence on Wellington Street West in Chatham Wednesday morning.

Police were called shortly after 9:30 a.m. While on the way to the crime scene, officers got word the suspect was stopped by the homeowner a short distance away from the residence.

A 43-year-old Ridgetown woman was charged with theft and possession of the stolen property.
