PWCs, UTV stolen in Tilbury

Shortly after midnight on Saturday, someone broke into a fenced-in compound and made off with an estimated $85,000 in recreational equipment.

Chatham-Kent police say thieves broke into the compound at 14 Industrial Park Rd. in Tilbury, and made off with a black and tan 2021 CanAm X3 Turbo utility terrain vehicle valued at $50,000, and two black GTX Limited Seadoos with an aluminum trailer valued at $35,000.

No injuries in crash

On Saturday morning at approximately 10 a.m., police responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Queen’s Line and Drake Road. 

The driver lost control and struck a hydro pole, police say. 

The 25 year-old-driver was subsequently charged with careless driving.

Total damage is estimated at approximately $30,000. 

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

Family feud 

Saturday afternoon at approximately 5 p.m., police responded to an address on Joseph Street in Chatham regarding a family dispute. 

As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old Chatham man was charged with unlawfully in a dwelling, and assault.
