C-K cop up on charges

A Chatham-Kent police officer faces charges following a recent investigation by the OPP.

Police say the officer, who was off duty at the time of the domestic-related incident, is charged with mischief, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and utter threats to damage property.

The incident was reported to the OPP on Sunday, police say. The charges were handed down the next day.

No further information will be released in order to protect the identity of the victim, integrity of the investigation and subsequent criminal court process along with pending Police Services Act investigation.

The officer has been suspended from duty, with pay.

  1. Did this cop also have his service weapon home with him?
Police Services boards and the Chief Administration needs to start to be held responsible for some culpability in these matters.
