Ottawa Guitar Trio hits town on Saturday

The Saturdays at 7 concert series continues Saturday at St. Andrew’s United Church.

The Ottawa Guitar Trio, a dynamic Canadian guitar ensemble, will perform at 7 p.m.

This Trio is dedicated to promoting the versatility of classical guitar and pushing the boundaries of guitar trio repertoire.

The program will feature arrangements and compositions spanning from classical music to movie screen tracks, nostalgic video game scores as well as original music for classical guitar.

The trio is composed of Nathan Bredeson, Alex Bougie and François Lacelle.

Making its debut in the summer of 2018, the trio in its first season took part in several concert series. They have performed in venues such as Rideau Hall, the Ontario Art Gallery and Dominion Chalmers United among others.

The Saturday concert will be presented to live and virtual audiences. Tickets are not required for those attending In-person. Masks are optional. The concert can also be viewed on Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/standrews/live.

Donations (suggested $15) will be gratefully accepted at the door or online to support St. Andrew’s music program. All are welcome.

On May 14, the Simply Sondheim concert will celebrate the life of one of the greatest musical theatre composers of our time.

On June 11, A Time to Celebrate concert will close off the ninth season.

The tenth season of Saturdays at 7 will be announced at that event.
