Chatham-Kent’s active COVID-19 case count is now up to 288 and could pass 300 on Wednesday.

CK Public Health reported 43 new cases over the past 24 hours, against 25 deemed resolved. That led to 18 more active cases than Monday.

A total of 14 people are in the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with COVID-19, up four from a day earlier.

There are still eight areas of outbreak, but no new ones. However, six of the eight are elementary schools, which are still closed for the holiday break.

Riverview Gardens and a workplace are the other areas of outbreak.

Across the province, we saw 8,825 new cases of the virus today, down from Monday and down from the record breaking 10,412 cases reported on Christmas Day.
