Industrial accident

Yesterday afternoon, Chatham-Kent police responded to an industrial accident at a factory in Tilbury.

A 59-year-old Tilbury man sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital as a precaution.

The Ministry of Labour was notified and has taken over the investigation.

Social media faux pas

On Feb. 20, a man was released from Court with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific Chatham woman.

Last night, police learned that the man called the woman and sent her a Facebook message.

A 49-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

No licence? Big problem

Yesterday morning, an officer with the Traffic Unit initiated a traffic stop on McCreary Line.

Through investigation, the officer learned that the man was suspended from driving for remedial measures and unpaid fines.

A 44-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with driving while under suspension and speeding.

Speed traps

Yesterday afternoon, the Traffic Unit conducted traffic enforcement on Longwoods Road in Kent Bridge. In 90 minutes, 10 motorists were stopped and charged with speeding.

Yesterday afternoon, members of Community Patrol conducted traffic enforcement on Longwoods Road near Chatham. Eight motorists were stopped and charged with various offences, such as speeding, driving while under suspension, using plates not authorized for the vehicle and failing to surrender insurance card.

Late yesterday afternoon, the Traffic Unit conducted traffic enforcement on Talbot Trail in Port Alma. One motorist was stopped and charged with speeding.
