Chatham-Kent is my home. I have resided in various wards of our community. As a business owner for many years, I feel at this time we need to be bolstering our existing business interests and encouraging and assisting new and young entrepreneurs.

Attracting young people and families to enjoy our great neighbourhoods, will build a brighter future for us all.

Growth through business, affordable housing and job opportunities will be the ingredients for our communities to stay vibrant and our rural roots being protected.

Our age-friendly community will continue to be the added bonus to CK and a great blueprint for others. I would be a voice representing fiscal responsibility and critical and progressive thinking. I would work hard for my constituents, and will be a good team player for our exciting future.

  1. Do you support increasing funding for infrastructure given the fact several culverts and bridges – including the Third Street Bridge – have had emergency issues and closures recently?

If the needs of the infrastructure warrant the increase, I believe that our foundation is a high priority.

  1. Would you support a tax freeze or rollback if it meant reduced staff and/or services?I am answering I would support a reduced staff, but we would need to regulate the loss of services.
  2. Would you support shifting some services to the private sector if those services could be done more efficiently that way?If this would be a significant savings while maintaining the same level of professionalism
  3. Do you believe we need a municipal ombudsman or ethics commissioner?Yes.
  4. Do you support investigating a reduction in the number of council members? There should be an investigation into this as it is a provincial matter and we should be prepared.
  5. Should the municipality try to land an Ontario Cannabis Store as soon as possible?Yes, this is an exciting new industry for Chat ham Kent for all aspects from growing to over the counter.
  6. Should council be more proactive in terms of working with landowners with contaminated wells?Yes, drinking water is a right and should be protected, at all levels of government.
  7. Some critics say the municipal building department is an impediment to development in C-K. Do you agree?Definite, the need for progress and affordable and or accessible housing should be encouraged and made as co-cooperatively as possible.
  8. Do you believe Chatham needs a new twin-pad arena?I do not believe Chatham Kent needs a new twin pad arena at this time.
  9. Should the municipality cut back on its expenditures for overseas economic development efforts?Yes, but at the same time should not discourage the possibility of these partnerships
  10. Should municipal councillors ever be forced to go the Freedom of Information route when seeking municipal information? No.
  11. Should members of the public have more access to municipal information without having to resort to an FOI?
