MSSC workers ratify deal

Unifor members working at MSSC Chatham recently ratified a three-year collective agreement that improves wages, benefits and language.

The new collective agreement covers 212 production workers, 30 skilled trades workers of Unifor Local 127 and 11 office workers of Unifor Local 35.

The collective agreement includes wage increase of two per cent in each year of the three-year collective agreement, as well as additional increases for the skilled trades.

The wage scale grow-in for new hires has been reduced from eight years to four years.

Improvement to vision and dental as well as reduced co-pay for employees, and an increase in paid time off were also negotiated.
