Who steals pet food?

dog-shelter

Chatham-Kent police are looking for a pet-food bandit today after an early morning break in at an Edgar Street home.

Police say the thieves made off with a large quantity of dog and cat food, along with a supply of leashes, outerwear and collars – all property of the Pet and Wildlife Rescue (PAWR), the group taking over operation of the animal shelter in Chatham.

Due to the theft, PAWR officials are scrambling to gather what’s needed to care for the animals at the shelter.

PAWR is asking for the public’s help. Anyone wishing to donate pet food or supplies can contact Pat Ready at [email protected] or by visiting the website at pawr.org.

Anyone with information about the theft can contact Const. Mike Taylor at 519-436-6600, or [email protected].
