The arrest of an Essex man in Wheatley for an outstanding warrant also resulted in a bust that netted more than $100,000 worth of drugs.

Yesterday afternoon, members of the Provincial Joint Forces ‘Repeat Offender and Parole Enforcement’ (ROPE) Team went to an address in Wheatley and arrested a man on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply.

Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service Intelligence Section also attended and through investigation, learned that the man was in possession of marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, fentanyl, LSD and a large amount of cash in a shed on the property.

Total street value of the seized drugs has been estimated at $103,000.

The 31-year-old Essex man has been charged with four counts of drug possession for the purposes of trafficking and two counts of failing to comply.  He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
