Wallaceburg man found, arrested for assault with a weapon

Police have made an arrest after an assault with a weapon incident in Wallaceburg.

On August 18 around 11:00 a.m. the victim, a 50-year-old man was walking his dog on Wallace Street when he crossed paths with another man walking his two small dogs.  The man began yelling at the victim as the dogs started barking at each other.  The victim walked away, however the man approached him again and threatened him and his dog with a small knife.  The man eventually walked away from the victim and police were notified of the incident.

Police identified the man responsible and a warrant for uttering threats and weapons dangerous was issued for his arrest.

Late yesterday afternoon, police located the man and he was arrested on the outstanding warrant.  When searched, the man was found to be in possession of two knives.

The 55-year-old Wallaceburg man has been additionally charged with two counts of being in possession of a prohibited weapon.  He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
