Chatham-Kent police laid a pair of impaired driving charges last night, with both incidents involving women and children in the vehicle.

In the first case, emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash on Bay Line east of Winterline Road in Dover Township about 9 p.m.

No one was injured in the crash.

Police say a family member came to the scene to take custody of the child, while the driver, a Chatham woman, 30, is charged with having a blood-alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

A little over two hours later, police responded to a complaint of an erratic driver on Riverview Line heading towards Chatham. An officer found the van and pulled it over on King Street.

Police took the female driver to headquarters for a breath test, and a family member took custody of two young children in the van.

A 36-year-old Tilbury woman is charged with having a blood-alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
