A strange incident in Chatham on the weekend – a man doing some property cleanup on McNaughton Avenue East discovered an unexploded hand grenade.
He called police shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday. They secured the scene and waited for personnel from the Department of National Defence to come and remove the grenade.
It turns out the firing pin had been removed, so there was never any danger.
