On October 27, 2015, a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401, near Drake Side Road.

At approximately 3 p.m., the officer observed a westbound Volvo car that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. The officer stopped the vehicle and charged a 41 year-old male driver from Mississauga, with Speeding.

Moments later, an officer conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401, near Merlin Road, observed the same vehicle travelling westbound. It appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 80 km/hr in the construction zone. The officer stopped the vehicle and charged the driver with Speeding in Construction With Workers Present.
