police cuffs

A pair of 19-year-old men will have their day in court in connection with a bungled theft attempt in mid-June.

Police say on June 16, two men entered a Thames Street building and used a set of bolt cutters to cut off a lock on a washing machine. The men tried to remove the change from the coin box, but weren’t able to get the cash, according to police.

They then noticed there was video surveillance in the laundry room, police say, and one of the men tried to remove it, but, again, he was unsuccessful.

Two days later, one teen was arrested and charged with mischief.

Last night, a second 19-year-old man turned himself in at police headquarters to face mischief charges.
