police cuffs

Two people were arrested on the weekend for shoplifting in a Chatham store.

Police say about 2 p.m. Sunday, security officers from the St. Clair Street business recognized a customer in the store from about a month earlier. They allege she had been eating food in the store and left without paying.

This time around, police say a woman and a man were seen trying to steal some cologne. Security staff detained the two and called police.

A 28-year-old Windsor woman and a 39-year-old man are charged with theft in connection with the incident.

  1. I find it increasingly frustrating, reading your stories.

I am going to stop following your posts. Your stories are so vague that there is no story to them. If they were any more vague, your headlines would read, "Something happened somewhere close to here."

Who, What, Where When, Why and How!! At least you could cover one of them completely!
…sorry – I see it happened on Sunday at around 2PM.

  2. I often just view these as little updates. Especially with criminal matters you can't publish all the information. It is possible that the business did not want its name published as it did not want business affected. This is just like a brief that would be found in any other paper.

I do like the style of getting just a couple of tidbits out there to people so they are at least aware, then it is up to each individual person to follow up and check up on new developments.

    Just my opinion

  3. Who — the police, store security and two suspects. What — shoplifting. Where — a local business (sorry, but the police declined to provide the name of the particular store). When — as you noticed, Sunday at about 2 p.m. Why — that would come up during their court appearances. How — again, such details would come up in court.
This is just a rewrite from the morning police briefs.
