There’s a new face at the helm of the Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team.
Beginning June 29, Cory Gosnell will assume the role of executive transformation lead to help guide 54 partner organizations and more than 100 individuals in the initiative to bring partners from all sectors together in order to provide seamless care.
Gosnell, who was born, raised and lives in Chatham-Kent, brings more than 25 years of senior public health-care leadership experience to the post. He has held positions with the Ministry of Health, Cancer Care Ontario and other acute care agencies, overseeing large, regional based clinical programs and support service departments.
Most recently, Gosnell worked as the chief operating officer of the Lawson Health Research Institute, heralded as one of Canada’s top hospital-based research institutes.
According to a CKOHT media release, Gosnell has “extensive experience” in the areas of health-system planning and development, system funding reform, stakeholder engagement and change management, in addition to advanced analytics and information management.
“I look forward to stepping into my new role listening to the needs of the residents of the region and working alongside the incredible health-care professionals and organizations throughout Chatham-Kent,” Gosnell said in the release. “The opportunity to support meaningful change that helps improve equitable access to care, and that meets the needs of today, while ensuring those resources are available in the future, is an exciting one. And the change to do that right in the community that I call home makes it all the more special to me,” he said.
