Attention men: Don’t hit women. It’s that simple.

But apparently not for a Chatham man recently. Chatham-Kent police say on July 22, a man and woman began to argue at her residence, and it got physical.

Police say the man then took the woman’s cell phone and didn’t let her leave the home. But she eventually fled and was able to get help, after sustaining minor injuries.

On Sunday at about noon, officers found their suspect on Park Avenue West.

A 31-year-old Chatham man faces two counts of assault, one of overcoming resistance to commit an offence (choking), theft, and forcible confinement.
