Two probation orders apparently weren’t enough for a Chatham man.

Chatham-Kent police say a man had a probation order placed upon him in June 2012 to not possess a prohibited or restricted weapon.

Earlier that same year, he also received a probation order to abide by a curfew between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

But on Sunday night, around 10 p.m., police say a criminal investigation led officers to a residence on James Street where they saw the man leaving the home.

Police arrested the man for failing to comply with his curfew. A search revealed the man was carrying a knife and dog spray, police said.

A 21-year-old Chatham man is charged with breach of probation, two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon and two counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon in connection with the incident.
