The Chatham Horticultural Society (CHS) is hosting a tour of the Chatham Greenhouse on Sept. 12 at 7 p.m.
This is an opportunity for CHS and community members, farmers, small business persons, and Chatham-Kent councillors to investigate options for community use of the facility in light of the recent council decision to offer the Chatham Greenhouse on Grand Avenue for sale or lease.
Be part of the information-gathering tour to consider any and all possibilities for use of this facility before the opportunity is lost. With the decision by council to sell or lease this asset, there is a limited window of opportunity to consider potential community uses.
Everyone is welcome.
For more information, please contact Maureen Geddes, CHS President, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (519) 437-5580.
Does anyone know the address of this greenhouse on Grand Avenue? I'm not familiar with the facility and would like to attend the open house on September 12th.
I don't know the number, but it is right at the intersection of Grand and Taylor, in the small park there.
This facility would have potential as a tourist attraction as well. Greenhouses don't have to be used for growing plants. There can be attractions that can take advantage of a covered protected facility.
