Police have identified the Chatham man killed last night in a single vehicle crash west of Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police say Ted Wagenaar, 74 died as a result of the crash. Emergency crews responded to a call about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday on Tecumseh Line between Dauphin Road and Pump Road. Riverview Line becomes Tecumseh Line west of Prairie Siding.
Police say the Wagenaar and his female passenger were eastbound when he lost control of his white Lincoln. The car left the road, rolled and wound up in a field.
Wagenaar, who had no vital signs, was taken to hospital in Chatham and medical personnel were unable to save his life.
The passenger, a 49-year-old Chatham woman, was also taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
