Domestic violence

On Saturday night, Chatham-Kent police responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on John Street East in Blenheim involving a man and woman.

Through investigation, police say they learned the male involved had assaulted the female.

The man was arrested for two counts of assault.

2 B&Es on Woods St.

Early Sunday morning, Chatham-Kent police responded to a break and enter at a residence on Woods Street in Chatham.

Someone got into a shed on the property and removed approximately $500 in meat.

The investigation is ongoing and there are currently no suspects.

Apparently, the suspect needed some flashy getaway wheels from their meat heist, as police also got a call of a break-in to another shed at another home on Wood Street early Monday morning.

Someone entered a shed and stole a pink and maroon bicycle. The investigation is ongoing and there are currently no suspects.

Surveillance says…!

Riding away on a bicycle late at night while carrying two commercial leaf blowers is not typical activity.

Add to the fact police were swarming the area in the wake of a break-in call, and you have a recipe to get stopped by police.

On Sunday, about 10:45 p.m., police got a call of a break-in in progress being monitored by surveillance cameras.

Officers arrived and set up containment. While they were doing that, police say someone was spotted riding a bike and packing two commercial-grade leaf blowers.

Officers believed that there may have been a connection, considering the time of night and the male being the only one in the area. Officers engaged in a brief foot pursuit and arrested the male.

Upon arrest, officers learned that the man also had multiple outstanding warrants. The outstanding warrants were executed, and he was additionally charged with break and enter to commit mischief, break and enter to commit theft, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and possession of break-in tools.

He was transported to Headquarters pending a bail hearing.

Comic books stolen

Sometime between Nov. 9 and 12, someone broke into a home on Oxley drive and made off with an estimated $3,000 in comic books.

TV, booze stolen

Chatham-Kent police are looking for information regarding a break and enter in Erieau.

On Nov. 13 between 12:49 p.m. and 12:59 p.m., someone entered a home and took a 65-inch TV, as well as a cooler of alcoholic beverages. All just before Sunday kickoff of NFL games.

There was video surveillance at the residence, but it only captured movement and did not reveal any suspects, police say.

B&E on Monarch

Police are looking for information from the public following a break-in on Monarch Drive in Chatham.

Sometime overnight from Friday to Saturday, someone entered a shed on the property and removed several tools. The investigation is ongoing and there are currently no suspects.

B&E on Wellington

On Saturday afternoon, police responded to a break and enter at a residence on Wellington Street East in Chatham.

Someone entered a trailer on the property and stole two chainsaws. The chainsaws were later recovered.

The investigation is ongoing and there are currently no suspects.

Boozed up

Early Sunday morning, police were called to a King Street West business in Chatham about an intoxicated male that police say was out of control.

Through investigation it was determined that the male had damaged a door to the business.

The man was charged with mischief and being intoxicated in a public place.

Warrant arrests

On Saturday afternoon, an officer on general patrol in Wallaceburg located a male in the area of McNaughton Avenue who was known to be wanted on an outstanding warrant.

The male was arrested on the strength of the warrant, transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and held pending a bail hearing.

On Sunday afternoon, an officer on general patrol in Wallaceburg located a female in the area of Elgin Street who was known to be wanted on an outstanding warrant.
