Road rage

A Sunday evening crash led to a bit of road rage, according to Chatham-Kent police.

At 6:42 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at the Circle K on Erie Street South in Ridgetown.

Upon arrival, police learned a disturbance occurred after a minor vehicle collision involving two individuals. One person remained on the scene.

Police say officers conducted a comprehensive investigation, resulting in an arrest.

A 51-year-old Charring Cross man was arrested for assault causing bodily harm.

Warrant arrest

Police spotted a familiar face on Jeffery Street in Chatham late Sunday afternoon.

Officers confirmed there was an outstanding warrant for the man for failing to attend court concerning a March 20 impaired driving investigation. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

A 22-year-old Chatham man faces the following charges: failing to attend court, failing to stop after a collision, operating a motor vehicle while impaired, having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit, and several Highway Traffic Act offences. He was held pending a bail hearing.

It’s a breach

Hanging out Sunday night around a church will draw some eyeballs.

That was the case shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday, as police were called in regard to suspicious activity at St. Joseph’s Church on Wellington Street West in Chatham.

Officers attended and located three people on the property.

Police discovered one man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for breaching a probation order. The other individuals left the property as requested.

A 29-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested.
