A public gathering at the new R.O.C.K. Missions site on Richmond Street marked International Overdose Awareness Day.
First responders were on hand, as well as volunteers with the Chatham-Kent Drug Awareness Council.
Officials and volunteers handed out free naloxone kits, and there was pizza, T-shirts and children’s activities.
Those who had lost someone to overdose were invited to write a tribute to their loved one on a backyard sun sail.
Among those helping were Emily Guerin, Kayla Stefik, Ken James, Chris Taylor, Terry Gardiner, Brad Davis and R.O.C.K. Mission executive director Renee Geniole.
