Resisting arrest

Last night, Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance between a man and woman in a parking lot on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that during a verbal argument while driving, the man would not allow the woman to exit the vehicle and that he drove at a high rate of speed in a dangerous manner.

Police believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol.

As the man was placed under arrest, he tried to pull away and refused to comply with the officers in an attempt to resist arrest.

The man was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters for breath tests where it was confirmed that he had a blood alcohol concentration above zero.

A 20-year-old Florence man was charged with driving while under suspension, being a novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration above zero, being a young driver with a blood alcohol concentration above zero, forcible confinement, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and resist arrest.

Domestic charges

On Sunday night, a verbal argument between a man and woman at a residence in Wallaceburg escalated into a physical altercation.

Late yesterday afternoon, the man was located and arrested in Windsor.

A 22-year-old Windsor man has been charged with domestic related offences. He was transported back to Chatham-Kent for court purposes and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

B&E suspect apprehended

Chatham-Kent police believe they’ve to their suspect in connection with a Tuesday night break and enter.

Someone entered a storage room at an apartment building on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg that night through an unlocked window. Once inside, the suspect stole various tools and items.

With the assistance of video surveillance, police say they identified the man responsible.

Yesterday afternoon, a 30-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with break and enter. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Stolen wheels

Sometime between Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Thursday at 8 a.m. someone stole a black 2011 Ford Focus from a residence on McDowell Line near Chatham.

The car was last seen with Ontario license plates ATBY 235.

Stolen TV

Sometime over the past few days, someone entered a residence on Cameron Street in Wallaceburg and stole a 55-inch Sharp television and CogecoTV box.
