Anticipation is building for the 10th annual Chatham Indoor Car Show, set for March 6-8 at the Bradley Centre in Chatham.
The show, put on by the Chatham Auto Dealers Association, offers a one-stop shopping experience for potential car buyers, out of the elements.
Ten local dealerships will showcase their 2020 models at the show.
Nick Cadotte, one of the event organizers for XS Productions, said the event allows people to gather information on various vehicles.
“I think the no-press sales approach is appealing. Just come out and see what Chatham dealers have to offer. It’s a friendly environment,” he said. “You can check them out and can compare. For example, if you are looking at SUVS, there will be a few of them in the room. And the sales people are there to help inform you of your options.”
Cadotte said sales don’t take place at the auto show, but customers are welcome to head to one of the dealerships to test drive or purchase a vehicle.
“It’s a great stimulus in our local economy. People are now accustomed to the fact that they can come and do all their homework in one day and make their purchase decision afterwards,” he said.
Cadotte added the local dealers work well together, and encourages people to shop local first.
“Come and support our community first. Keep that money in town,” he said, as local dealerships are heavily involved in sponsoring minor sports teams and supporting local charities.
The dealers also sponsor the community room at the auto show, where non-profit groups can showcase their information or seek volunteers, Cadotte said.
There will also be several vendors in the community room, as well as a number of vintage automobiles, and a Disney character will be on hand throughout the weekend, he added.
The Chatham Indoor Auto Show takes place March 6 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., March 7 form 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and March 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Admission is free.
